Ono Generator
The Ono Generator takes words and phrases from Yoko Ono's 'Instruction Paintings'.
[Ono, Y. (1995) Instruction Paintings, New York, Weatherhill, Inc.]
They were exhibited at the Sogetsu Art Center, Tokyo, 1962.
The show consisted of instructions only, no paint.
It was an early example of Conceptual art.
The 'in-vacua machine' uses these words and phrases to write new instructions.
Each instruction is generated randomly.
Instructions do not usually repeat each other and never repeat Ono's.
